Walking War Robots

''Walking War Robots'' is an action freemium mobile app game developed and published by the Russian game developer Pixonic. It was first released on iOS in 2014 and was released to Android the following year.
''Walking War Robots'' is a third-person shooter with real-time PvP battles in MMO mode. Players operate a giant mech robot on a live battlefield and they have the option to play solo or to team up with other players. Battles are held in 6 vs 6 mode and missing players are automatically added to the team based on special matchmaking system.

Upon pressing the start button an automatic search is performed for competitors. Players are given a short amount of time to select their robots before the game begins. Each player has several tasks, which range from destroying as many hostile robots as possible to capturing the most beacons. Each team has six players and teams are dropped onto opposite sides of the field. A players can use only one robot at a time, and if the robot is destroyed, the player has the option to select another robot (if the player has any). Game play ends when players are unable to fulfill the game tasks in time. The results of the battle and each player result are calculated based on team and individual efforts and accomplishments.
Users are able to control three classes of robots: light, medium, and heavy. Light robots have higher mobility and are able to immediately leave fire zone and quickly attack enemy beacons. These robots give a big advantage mostly in the beginning of the battle. At the same time they are weakly equipped and have low durability. Medium robots combine durability, fair mobility and ability to be equipped with a decent amount of weapons. Heavy robots have the highest durability level and the biggest amount of weapons. At the same time they don’t have a good maneuverability. Robots are equipped with weapons in the special hardpoints. There are three types of hardpoints: light, medium, and heavy.
As players progress in the game they can gain experience points and can upgrade the level of their robots, which will enable them to unlock new abilities or improve characteristics. Users can purchase new equipment, robots, and upgrade weapons using gold or silver earned during gameplay and they also have the potential to purchase more gold through microtransactions.
